: There are many factors of McD that really piss me off. For instance, getting a phone call from work....'can you come in as soon as possible?' to which I nearly always reply to with a yes.

I used to get that ALL the time! If they needed someone, they'd call me, and put me on a shitty station. And it usually wouldn't be that busy and I'd have nothing to do! When it's -40 out, this is not appreciated!

: I think at the end of shifts, we deserve at least a free soft drink. Afterall, they make a profit on most items (if not all) when they sell at the special crew rate.

McDonalds do deserve at LEAST a free drink..that's why you take one ;)
At my restaurant anyways, it was SO easy to steal food/drinks.

: When you feel sick, managers don't say 'hey, go sit in the crewroom for half an hour, and see how you feel'. They say 'well you've only got another 3or so hours to go'.

I had that problem too. Which is really stupid because if they really cared about serving the customers a high quality product..they wouldn't want someone who's sick handling the food..but you can't argue.

: Managers just take the food, such as drinks, burgers etc, but if we did that we would be fired!

Managers are allowed to have free food. There's "employee meals" and "manager meal" on the till..manager meal zero's out the price. Managers also do not get half an hour breaks. We got 15 mins during an 8 hour shift..if we were lucky..and you wouldnt get to go eat until sometimes 5-6 hours after starting!

: Another of many problems, the store is always understaffed.

If that's a problem maybe someone should have a little chat with the manager in charge of schedules...
