: For all you people that come into our restaurant....there are many things that you should be made aware of. First of all, a hamburger pattie (from frozen state) takes approx. 44 seconds to cook, and a quarter pounder pattie takes about 90 seconds to cook. Many of the burgers are dripping with fat, and sometimes they aren't cooked enough, but still given out to you!

You are right about the dripping with fat part, only at some stores depending on how they set up their grill. But as for undercooked, you are mistaken, if anything many stores mess up their grill settings accidentally and overcook the burgers, burning off all the fat, it doesnt taste as good, but there is less fat. I've been in many stores that did this. I have set up my store's grill to leave them cooked just right, It makes them very greasy, but I then compress the patties upon a tray and drain the grease, if everyone followed this tecnique the burgeers would taste alot better.

: If that isn't scary enough, how about the food you're eating......how fresh is it? Salads can be hours old (as can pies, buns, etc.).

Salads are refrigerated, pies are kept warm in the bin, and the buns are covered, the buns are usually not open long enough to get stale. We usually use them up in that time. and when the store empties we cover the buns.

: A way to tell how old your burger is, is by looking at the little metal plate behind the burger when it is put into the bin (a # between 1 and 12). The number on the plate, corresponds to a number on the clock. When the clock reaches that number, your burger is officially "bad." Also, fries can be good for about 10 minutes.

You know and I know that the burgers can last longer than the bin times on the clock. In fact when i make myself food, I usually leave it in the bin for a bit. It tastes better. If the bin is kept warm cheeseburgers taste just as good for up to at least 1/2 hour after they are made, then they get to be a bit tough. But they are not truly bad till about 1 hour after. I eat this food alot and I am not looking to poision people, but i have had burgers that are 10 minutes old and burgers that are 1 hour old, they taste the same.
As for the fries, they get kinda nasty after about 25 minutes, not 10 like the timer says, they are fine till they are about 25 minutes old. They usually dont last longer than 5 minutes anyway, with the amount of people that come in, and once the store gets really dead, they cook them to order. Remember, many McDonalds workers dont give a shit, if your food sucks give it back, they will toss it and make you new food just to make you go away.

:And the toppings on your burger(s) aren't the pick of the litter either! The onions, lettuce, mustard, ketchup, pickles, etc. are left open for many hours at a time!

Hmm well all the condiments are kept in sealed tubes, that are one way, which means they only shoot stuff out, so the air doesnt really get at them. and like I said, the stuff doesnt last very long with the volume that people come in. The prep table is also usually kept covered in a cooler place in the grill area so that the stuff does not get nasty. remember workers eat the same stuff you do, if they see brown lettuce they usually toss it, they dont wanna eat it. They can relate and they do realize that it could be them getting served out there. Not that they care much about you but the average worker has enough morals not to serve food that doesnt look appetizing (ie brown lettuce or onions).

: The restaurant is also very wasteful. At the end of the day.....when the store is ready to close....they throw out all of the perfectly good food into the garbage. My question is..."how can you do this when there are millions of people around the world dying of starvation, and you're just throwing out perfectly good food?" I think that I've made my point....people...when you have the choice of a nice, restaurant meal, or fast food, I hope that I will have compelled you to eat at another restaurant when you are hungry.

Hmm, well they do toss the food, but what are they gonna do, wrap it all up and run over to the nearby homeless shelter? By then it will be nasty, and there usually isnt that much food left at night anyway. Remember after a certain time most McD's are cook to order. They are usually low on certian items (lettuce) by that time and they ususally take out just enough to finish off the night. So in the end they really dont throw out very much, maybe enough to feed about 3 people if you really try.
