: Swallow what?!!! That was uncalled for, EC! How about finding a better way to answer Cara's post if you disagree with her!!!

: Not all bosses and franchise owners are monsters! Anyone who owns a business has a right to expect his or her employees to do a proper job and be good to his/her customers!

: There obviously needs to be more people who share Cara's positive attitude, and pride in her job! I don't consider myself a slave either. I was hired to do a job, and I deliver everyday. It's that simple!

: Be nice!

Having pride in your job isn't good in itself. The concept of having pride in your job.is an abstraction. It just means you are proud of the actions you take to fulfill your function with no relation to what the social impact of your function is. I find it hard to understand the pride of a worker who say helps in manufacturing arms that kill later are used to kill innocent civilians in say East Timor. It seems a very restricted vision if people simply take pride in their expertise in their job without thinking about the actual consequences to others. Without considering this life would be conducted in a vacuum where eventually economics is an end in itself and quality of life is an issue regarded as a side issue and the cult of economic growth central. Quality of life has nothing to do with economic growth as Indonesians will testify (when they catch their breath.)
