Union Carbide kills

Posted by: Greg Clarkson on December 05, 1996 at 02:05:29:

The 3rd of December marks the 12 anniversary of the Bhopal Gas Disaster.
On that night in 1984 5000 people died.

Twelve years later the International Medical Commission on Bhopal
has found that 50 000 survivors are PERMANENTLY DISABLED.

This goes to prove that Bhopal is not something of the past to be
read about in history books. It is about today and the future.

So far the only lesson the Union Carbide has learnt from the disaster
is that expensive lawyers are cheaper than effecient safety systems.

The Indian government has learnt that if they wait long enough
the pressure becomes less and they don't have to meet the needs
of the survivors...

I have put together a web page to keep the pressure up!
If you know any email addresses that i can include on the page so
that people can email the various governments and officials
let me know!
the URL is www.ucaqld.com.au/bhopal

lets keep the internation pressure up on this multinational company too.
