Are McSpotlight readers aware that the multi-national Mattel company has just launched a suit against a Barbie collectors' magazine - Mattel wishes all comments about the Barbie doll to be made by licensees of the Mattel company, this means that commentary upon the doll would be limited to adversting and company approved copy. Now not all of you may like Barbie, but these actions will threatened the work of creative artists and hobbyists who work with the Barbie doll as a subject. Also the prinicipal will be very damaging to all subcultures and collecting groups who work with contemporary popular culture. Many talented and original thinkers frequently reference the Barbie doll in creative work, performance. etc. None.
