: I think cows display less signs of intelligence than ants, which have developed their own highly sophisticated social infrastructure. The ARA's will say we domesticated them into a stupor. I suggest we
domesticate ants and eat them too.
: Will animal rights activists next be suggesting we donÆt step outdoors for fear of stepping on these creatures?
Please don't say it so loud. They might hear you. You pose the question that has no answer in their circles because no one has the guts to draw the line between cellular life and a steer. If you draw it at scientifically classified animals, we make scientists the arbitrators of our culinary experience (I'm not hungry any more) and not colorful Italian chefs. That would also leave cultures which eat bugs free to munch away.
But wait... don't bugs have a nervous system? Don't they feel pain? Don't they have inalienable rights to a happy bug existence?
Got to draw that line at bugs too. But wait... and so on. The fact is,
every single person slaughters millions of living things every day. So
those who are motivated by tears will not be drawing that line. I'll be glad to draw it though. I'll draw it at humans. We shouldn't eat other
humans.
Unless there is an emergency.
