: I was just suggesting that one should broaden their horizons a little when travelling to other places. Why would one want to go to a foreign country, just to sample McDonalds? That would be like me going to Texas to see a hockey game. What have you got against Canadians anyway?

Hmm.... let's see. Nothing actually unless they espouse vegetarianism and say capitalism is cool like Mr.Sprout while all the while ignoring
Canada's contribution to the mess this world is living in and thinking that I'm whining when all I'm really doing is typing. So he's not much better than a lot of Americans who feel the same way about their country and ignore the problems that need to be looked at.

So as for playing hockey in Texas goes I guess with my being born in Montreal, raised seven miles away from Oka and eventually playing quite a bit of minor league hockey in both the US and Canada I guess I get really biased. If you want to see me that way.

Now here's a handy refernce for you to look up at the library.
CONTROLLING INTEREST-WHO OWNS CANADA? by Diane Francis is a good one to start with and also THE QUICK AND THE DEAD by Linda McQuaig is a good one also. There's other books but I can't name them now.Anyways, I hope you get to read Mr. Sprout's postings at the Capitalism and Alternatives " section and know the difference between smarts and wisdom.
