: Personally, I don't care if McDonald's goes tits up or belly up. If you want to breathe in the gross Toronto air and eat corporate vegetarian food that's fine with me. The stuff's still fast food and that's that.
: Maybe Mike Sprout will develop some critical consciousness about capitalism before he gets rid of the illusion that capitalism can be reformed. Either way he shouldn't whine about my legitimate complaint to McSpotlight. If I choose to e-mail them privately that's my business and not the business of Mike Sprout. Otherwise the quality of discussion will get worse than it already has so far.

Capitalism is fine by me. In fact I strongly disagree with the all the whining here about the poor pay and treatment of McDonald's workers. I have no problem with the way McDonald's treats its workers. While no doubt the have many low quality managers owing to the low wages they pay, everyone is always free to seek work elsewhere. Personally, I think the minimum wage should be LOWERED. Most kids today have far to much money anyway.
I think people should be free to do whatever they want - until it starts to hurt someone else. The meat industry, as the biggest threat to the global environment (after over human population) harms us all. Smoke a cigarette (as long as your not blowing it in someones face), while stupid, is fine by me. People who choose to eat meat are harming the earth for us all.

As for any digs at Canada, two years in a row the UN has identified Canada as having the HIGHEST quality of life anywhere on EARTH. Obviosly we're doing something right. Personally, I live in Kingston, Ontario (last year picked as one of the top 5 cities in Canada by a national magazine) and our air quality is as good as anywhere on earth. In comparison to most large cities in the world, Toronto is a lot closer to being the best than the worst.
I maintain, to whine as you did about someone allegedly using your fake name to impersonate you on a site debating the merits of McDonald's is ridiculous. It's not as though someone was impersonating you to forge credit cards or something.
