: PS You ask what country this revolution should start/occur in. My answer is that socialism must be a worldwide system. We cannot have true 'socialism' in just one country alone. (I think I elaborate on this in one of my previous messages.)

Well... In my humble opinion, I do not think a world-wide mass revolution is probable. It would clearly be preferable because it would destroy the very concept of capitalism, but it isn't likely to happen.
Socialism in one nation IS possible and if it was to happen, said nation must then show the world what socialism is about, and that it is a better and more just system. If the USA then declares that nation a threat to democracy and wages war on it, the rest of the World will probably react like they did during the Vietnam war. Actually, no country has aided socialism as much as USA has, by showing us the brutality and crudeness of capitalism.

Comrade Green, you have been talking about 'true socialism' very often, as in the way the World Socialist Movement sees it. But all the nations in the world have different cultural prerequisites, so socialism as a worldwide revolution is VERY unlikely. Countries like my own home, the Scandinavian block, have had a form of 'socialism' (social democracy - not real socialism) since the 20's, and because we therefore have an enormous public sector the change would be different from that of a country based on private initiative (like the US). Likewise, a way to overthrow capitalism in Cuba or Russia would probably not work in the USA, UK, Denmark or Japan for instance.

Furthermore, a socialist movement not adhering to the World Socialist Movement's views CAN be and probably IS true socialism anyway, after all socialists are a very diverse group. Anarchism, syndicalism, communism and the New Left are the most common socialist -isms, and all represent socialism in one of the many interpretations. (again, there are combinations of these ideals, as in anarcho-syndicalism)

If you want links to LOTS of diverse socialist movements, parties and organizations all over the world, point your browser to http://www.venstresocialisterne.dk and enter by clicking on the logo with the revolutionaries. The main site is in Danish, but click on the GIF anim of a spinning globe and you will get LOADS of links, from the Cuban government's homepage to a revolutionary group in Japan.

venstresocialisterne.dk is run by the Left Socialist Party of Denmark, which is currently under the Unity List, an alliance of red and green groups in Denmatk. Check it out.
