Chomsky is indeed an excellent author but his work should be considered in balance with others. For instance in 'What Uncle Sam Really Wants' he totally dismisses Leninism in the belief that the soviet union was leninist.

It is just as possible that the leninist dream was betrayed as easily as the American Dream.

Finally Chomsky believes that the centre of human organisation is the individual following enlightenment, who takes care of the state of things unhtil the individual is enlightened? The State maybe?
