Which only serves to bring to mind what media pundits and apologists used to say about East Germans: "They are fairly content with the situation"
However, the relevant comparison is not that with East Germany, but with slow-decline post-war Argentina, a case study in how a country can slide from being one of the richest countries in the world to being thoughorly poor and mediocre - and still feeling good about itself and its system.
