Read Lenin's "State and Revolution" its quite instructive- basically a lot of his theory seems to be based upon a misnomer of what the state is, but lets let that pass....

: The reason the revolution failed was because it didn't spread to Germany, if there was a Bolshevik party there to organise the well developed working class then we might be living in a very different world.

It failed because the majority of people did not actively understand or want socialsim (There is even doubt that a majority of people participated in the revolution). It was socialism from above- which cannot hope to work.

: It wasn't Trotsky who systematically executed people from different revolutionary backgrounds. He was too damn busy directing the Red Army.
Systematically reverting back to bourgeois miliatary methods, and trying to increase his own power by militarising the Unions....

It was Joe Stalin who executed ALL revolutionaries who were around in 1917. Check out Trotsky's History of The Russian Revolution.

A hugely unbiased source I'm sure...
