Why is it so easy for some people to justify taking from the "haves" in society to "benefit" the "have-nots"? As a college student, I encounter Marxist theories often. It seems to me that the defenders of socialism are those who are unwilling to work. The Constitution guarantees equal oportunity, NOT equal outcomes. Welfare encourages dependence on the government, and the whole idea of being an American (at least in my opinion) is being capable of depending on my own hard work,(as well as God). Every person who has struggled to build a business deserves everything that they have earned, and NO ONE--no government program--should be able to punish their achievement.
