If Christopher actually made any sense it might be possible to make some form of meaningful reply. But you don't have to look very far into the diatribe to understand the general gist. "Socialism" was an attempt to "violently alter man", and "to destroy man", and to create "man as he should be". But of course it (Socialism) failed, and we are left with capitalism, which of course "works" (both truisms now in their own right). Judging from the support given by his buddies the "Defenders of Capitalism and America", Chris is not alone.

As for the nonsense about "consumerism" (presuming it exists), one need hardly comment on its relationship with the great liberator: capitalism - which again, "works". But because we're not materialists, as Chris points out, we do not deal with issues in totality, but in isolation.
