According to socialist theory, freedom is insight in necessity, so a society of free workers would furthermore rule out Turner's example with the workers craving a tenfold increase in wages - if they are truly free, they would know that society would collapse under that and they wouldn't know it.

That last sentence should have read 'they wouldn't DO it'.
