I've never stated that Socialism and Democracy were incompatible. In fact I expect that any Socialist system would include a government elected by the people. I am *still* against Socialism for the following reasons:

1) It is not an efficient use of Earth's resources. Socialism requires layers of central planners and government management. A complex economy cannot be managed from the "top-down". Socialism results in massive waste.

2) Socialist economies expect people to perform without any incentiuve for better and more creative work. While this may be good for the mindless factory and farm work of Marx's time, it is suicide for our technologically advanced, thought-intensive world.

3) Socialism is coercive in nature. If I wish to become a painter instead of a steelworker, what will the Central Comittee say? Under Capitalism I need only find someone to buy my paintings.

There are other reasons, but these are the main ones.
