STRAW MEN OF THE RIGHTWING IMAGINATION

This example below where Dan attributes this quote to me is patently false. Moreover, it's a lie.He attacks an argument different from (and weaker) from my argument.

Dan's False quote of Qx: Why does Castro go to bed with a full stomach while the rest, or atleast a large portion of his country starve? How has he been able to avoid the affects of the imperialist dogs? And why in a communist country doesnt he share his magical powers with his comrads? Why did Latin American countries VOTE communism out of power?

Qx:Now that's foolish if you think I support Castro or even romanticize Che Guevara. First of all, the people of Cuba are not starving. For sure there is a food shortage and that it isn't good. If he can show evidence to the contrary that is solid and doesn't come from the corporate media then I just might consider it. After all, I do know the difference between Cuba's food shortage and North Korea's famine.

The imperialist dog thing is something right out of Maoist-Stalinist jargon that I don't play with. I'm not an ideologue but this guy's imagination tells him otherwise and he can't tell the difference. If Castro has magical powers then Dan should be praying.

The part about Latin Americans voting Communists out of power is about as accurate as stating that the ex-Soviet Union was truly communist. This is indicative of a historical memory that goes back to about last week.

Dan: In downplaying the people who speak against your ideas by declaring them all brainwashed, you fall pray to the same problems of the people you denounce. Intolerance to other people's ideas is just as ugly when it comes from the left of the political sphere as when it comes from the right.

Qx: This is a false portrayal that Dan attributes to me. He feels that I don't believe in freedom of speech while he seems to be telling the rest of us not to whine. There are lots of people I argue with that could be construed as brainwashed . Actually, the term "highly indoctrinated" is much more suitable but then again not everyone I debate with is "brainwashed" or "highly indoctrinated".
