OK, i might as well give you my ideal society. In reality no one can tell what it wil look like but it will materialise around certain principles (just like sci fi writers don't know what future technology will be like but the can make guesses around principles.)

These principles are borrowed from others but based around the catch phrase of masters without slaves. All leaders and hierarchies would be rejected, as well as the idea of self sacrifice. As such, life would be celebrated and not be something you squander in meaningless survival. This would then form the basis for all roles and usage of technology (i know I'm borrowing heavily from the situationists and Raoul Vaneigem inparticular, but it sounds good to me.)
Yet what perhaps makes a surer future is knowing what it won't be like and rejecting these values completely.

By the way animal rights are surely an extension of libertarian principles and to question the role of animals in society, you start to push at the whole basis of society, since it leads to so many other areas. (Your blood, their blood serves the same.)
