: That's because I'm expressing an opinion, and not proposing a change to the system. I asked "Does anyone agree [with my opinion]?"
: I know that this could be percieved as cowardly, to attack one institution without proposing an alternative, but I can't for sure say that banning adverts would have good or bad effects on society because I don't have a crystal ball. I'm trying to work out what's wrong with the current system, before I work out how to change/scrap it.

The most problematic contradiction of capitalism is: production for short term profit comes way before production for human need. What happens? a lot of useless things get produced, a lot of over-production occurs while there still exists 1.2 billion people or 23% of the world that live in absolute poverty. And it's not just bad luck.

In ever increasing competition (due to capitalism's desire for a "free" Market), adverts are the front-line for capital investment battles, with monopolies winning out every time. Sensory overload becomes a very real problem - even for the basic task of thinking - we are more increasingly fed our information and thus our consent to the social & ecological crises unfolding around us is manufactured.

The logical concept of adverts is fine. The motive for high quality in work remains under socialism so there remains a need to tell people about it. You remove the profit motive from the equation and adverts will probably not be so annoying.
