Well Dan I finally agree with you. The Bible is the biggest crock of shit ever written. Without an enormous treatise on the Roman Empire, do you really think that a repressive dictatorship such as that would allow anything to be written that ran contrary to its interests? ("Pay unto Caesar that which is Caesar's" the biggest cop out in history) Not to mention the fact that for most of its existrence the Papacy has been little more than a vehicle for power and political advancement for the political families of Italy and Europe as a whole. How anyone can subscribe to an ancient system of political control in this day and age is beyond me.
