Who do you people think owns the corporations?

Some people at this site are constantly complaining, whining, or furiously typing about "greedy corporate owners" "greedy CEOs", or something similar. These same people constantly express their support for unionized workers. Who do you think owns the corporations? One person at this site has proclaimed himself a supporter of Ontario's teachers. I wonder if he also supports Maple Leaf Food workers who recently had their plant shut when they went on strike. One of the biggest shareholders in Maple Leaf is the Ontario teachers pension fund. In fact, the vast majority of funds invested in capital markets is the pension funds of the very unionized workers you support so strongly. So the next time you post a message about the greedy ownership of corporations, be aware of who your really talking about. Also be aware that all corporations are run democratically - 1 share 1 vote. If the owners don't like what the CEO is doing, they can vote for a change.
