                       BRIAN BISHOP, recalled
            Cross-examined by the Defendants, continued

MR. RAMPTON: Before the cross-examination continues, Mr. Bishop
has said to me that there is something he wants to tell
your Lordship. I do not know what it is. I told him he
cannot tell me, but he does want to say something.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. (To the witness) Mr. Bishop, what is
       it?
       A. It is a small point, your Lordship. Yesterday I was
asked if I was aware that writs were going to be served on
the evening of the 20th, and I replied that I did not know,
which was true. But, overnight, I seem to recollect that
that week prior to that meeting, I had been told that writs
would be issued, but I was not given details of when they
would be issued. When the two guys turned up at the
meeting, I assumed they were police. I did not immediately
       connect.

  Q. You did not associate them with writ serving?
       A. No.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. It probably does not matter, but all
I will say, although Mr. Bishop may genuinely believe that
police officers serve civil writs, I have never actually
heard of it, myself. I would be very surprised to hear.
They may be asked occasionally to serve summonses in
       criminal proceedings, but -----

MR. RAMPTON: Search warrants and arrest warrants.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, but not process in civil proceedings, so
far as I am aware. Yes. I have not checked with anyone
I know; it is just that I have never heard of it, myself.

MS. STEEL: (To the witness) I think we were on 20th September?
       A. Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What further did you want to ask?

MS. STEEL: I am sorry. I am trying to sort my notes out.
I got a bit confused overnight. I cannot actually remember
how far I got on 20th September.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I had you on page 203 of the notes, which is
the second page of the fuller version of the report dated
       20th September.

  MS. STEEL: OK.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I believe you were organising leaflets for
       the Greenpeace fair.

  MS. STEEL: Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I assumed not the IMF, as the IMF is not
mentioned there. That was in the note.
