AD&D DARK SUN: Crimson Sands Rules of Conduct THE CHAOS WORLD The Chaos World is for players looking for the challenge of a lawless environment where control resides with whichever players can seize it. The only rules for the Chaos World are those of the TEN Community Guidelines. Violations of these Guidelines (such as hacking, impersonating other players or groups, or excessively obnoxious or vulgar behavior) may result in a player losing his or her account on TEN, just as on any other part of the service. THE LAW WORLD The Law World is for players who desire a regulated environment where players cooperate so that everyone has a good experience. The Law World therefore has rules in addition to the TEN Community Guidelines. Players who cannot play by the following rules will lose their access to the DARK SUN - Law World, either for one week, or permanently. The determination to block a player from the Law World will be made by TEN based on feedback from staff and players. Eventually, a Player Council may be formed to assist TEN in determining who should be blocked. Here are the rules: 1. DON'T CHEAT Alt-Tabbing, Ctrl-Alt-Deleting (CADing), or disconnecting in order to avoid combat or death is not allowed. Duping items or exploiting game loopholes is not allowed. 2. STAY IN CHARACTER Players should be careful about the public use of Out-of-Character (OOC) dialogue. Players are expected to inform other players if their OOC chat is disturbing them, and players should improve their dialogue accordingly. (Players who complain too much will be asked to be less sensitive to this issue.) 3. FOLLOW THESE PVP GUIDELINES PvP (Player vs. Player Combat) is ONLY allowed in the following two cases: A) It's in a PvP Region. If a region banner (the text which appears when you enter a region) says that the region allows PvP, then PvP is allowed for any reason. Most of the new 1.5 regions will allow PvP. Make sure to always check the banner when you enter a region because the PvP status may change. OR B) It's Against a Villain. Villains, indicated by a & at the beginning of their name, may attack other players or be attacked by other players, regardless of region. (Villains are expected to add to the setting through role-play and judicious use of PvP. This symbol will only be given to players that staff believes can handle this responsibility.) HOWEVER Non-Combatant Players (#'s), indicated by a # at the end of their name, are not allowed to attack other players or be attacked by other players even in PvP Regions or against Villains. Oh, also, you're never attack a a character with a * in front of their -- they're staff and are there to help. That's it ... pretty straight forward. If you have any questions, find an *Oracle in the game and ask.
