If you want to run your own FTP or Web server and you have a dynamic IP, get Auto-IP Publisher. It publishes your IP address into existing web pages on the internet. You can create links that are automatically updated with your new IP. Plus if you get disconnected, it will reconnect you and update your html page. You can set Auto-IP to repeat this function, which will emulate network traffic, keeping your connection from being disconnected by your ISP.
