Windows95 or Windows NT 3.51, or above.
Microsoft Exchange, Windows Messaging, Outlook or some other MAPI-compliant
application must be installed and configured for MailCheck to work.
MailCheck is a small, fast-loading program which sits pretty in your taskbar doing nothing until you receive a new mail message, at which point it displays a preview of the message, and allows you to either launch your mail application, delete the message or ignore it and go back to sulk in the taskbar.
Due to the way in which MAPI works, if MailCheck is running and another MAPI application such as Microsoft Exchange or Windows Messaging is loaded, it will use the same connection, thus bypassing the password prompt.
To install: Extract the zip file's contents into a temporary directory, then double-click the SETUP.EXE file.
To uninstall: You can uninstall MailCheck using the "Add/Remove Programs" icon in Control Panel.
To use: Create a shortcut to MailChk.exe in your startup group. When the program loads for the first time, right-click the envelope icon which appears in the taskbar and select "Preferences", to set the program preferences to your own.
