THE SHAREWARE CONCEPT
"Shareware" is a revolutionary software distribution method, NOT a type of
software.  Shareware programs are produced by programmers, just like other
retail software. Some shareware programs are free programs (freeware) or
programs in the public domain, which are not copyrighted.  But the vast
majority of shareware programs are copyrighted software programs that are
distributed by their authors through bulletin boards, online services, disk
vendors and copies passed among friends: they are similar to commercial
software products except that you're allowed to try them before paying for it.
If you use any of the shareware programs included on this four disk set that
are not freeware or public domain shareware, you are obliged to pay
registration fees to the authors of the programs. These registration fees
enable the authors to continue to develop software products.  Information
about registering and registration fees is contained inside the compressed
files, usually at the beginning or end of each program.  Please show your
support for the shareware concept by registering those programs you actually
use. Remember, the shareware distribution system and the availability of
quality shareware products depends on your willingness to register the
shareware programs you use and to pay the registration fees.


YOUR SHAREWARE PURCHASE FROM TONS & GIGS INC.
Our role is to bring a convenient "bulletin board" to you.  This four disk
set is a collection of roughly 15,000 programs that have been downloaded from
other bulletin boards, mainly in Europe.  A few may not run on your computer
hardware due to obsolescence or other technical reasons.  We have spent
considerable effort to organize the massive volume of shareware material on
these disks in a simple and user-friendly way.  We would like to make it
clear, however, that we are not actually selling to you any of the shareware
programs included on these disks.  Rather you are purchasing an organized
framework or, if you wish, a ready-to-run bulletin board package - on which
the downloaded programs we have included are provided at no additional cost
as a service to the various shareware authors.  In this way, shareware authors
have an enhanced distribution system for their products, thereby increasing
their potential shareware registration revenue.
We have tried to inspect the enormous volume of material on this four disk
CD set in order to eliminate any copyrighted programs that were not intended
to become part of the shareware distribution system, but inadvertently we may
have missed a few or not have had enough information from the downloaded
material to make an informed judgment or we may have assumed, because of the
length of time that downloaded material had been left on other bulletin boards,
that the authors of such material had left them in the public domain. Should
you come across any copyrighted or restricted programs that were not intended
to become part of the shareware distribution system, please (a) respect any
restrictions concerning their use and (b) notify us so that we may remove them
from our next production.


Warranty
We warrant for a period of one year from the date of your purchase that this
CD-ROM set is free from defects in workmanship and materials. We make no other
warranty or representation.  Any use of these disks other than as a personal
retrieval system is not warrantied.  We have no responsibility for the
contents, accuracy, use or abuse of the shareware programs included on these
disks. As a precaution, we have attempted to ensure that the shareware
included in this CD-ROM set is free from viruses, but no known defences exist
that can guarantee that all viruses have been eradicated.  In case of any
claims against us for defective products, you must return the defective item
to us at your cost together with your original proof of purchase.  Our sole
liability is to provide you with a replacement set or its equivalent; we are
not liable for any indirect or consequential damages you may suffer through
your use of this product. By using this product, you agree to be bound by the
terms set out above.
