NAME

kall - kill processes by command name

SYNOPSIS

kall [-signal] prog1 [prog2...]

DESCRIPTION

Kall sends the specified signal (defaults to -TERM) to all processes whose command name is specified on the command line. For example:

        kall -HUP remind foobar

sends a HUP signal to all remind and foobar programs. Note that kall sends signals only to those processes owned by the user invoking kall.

BUGS

Kall is a sh(1) script and depends on the behaviour of ps(1); thus, it is not especially portable.
