Setting up Windows 98/Me (and Windows 95 with IE 4+) for Zipcon

Go into My Computer / Control Panel / Internet Options

Now click on the Connections tab at the top.

Click on the Setup or Connect button near the top, this
will launch the Internet Connection Wizard.

You'll see either this:

   Choose "I have an existing Internet Account through my phone line..."
   Click Next
   Choose "Select this option if you are accessing the Internet
       using an Internet service provider or a local area network (LAN)"
   Click Next


Or you'll see:

   "I want to set up my internet connection manually"
   Click Next


Choose "Connect using a phone line and modem."
Click Next

Choose "Create a new dial-up connection."
Click Next

Enter your own area code in the area code box, then for "Telephone
number:" enter 206-576-7500 (all 10 digits, dashes are optional).
Click Next

Type in your User name and password.  Your user name is also called
your login name in some documents.  It is all lowercase.
Click Next

Select "No" if it asked "Do you want to change the advanced settings
for this connection?"
Click Next

For "Connection Name" put in "Zipcon"
Click Next

Choose "Yes" for "Do you want to set up an Internet mail account now?"
Click Next

Choose "Create a new Internet mail account"

For display name, fill in your real name, for instance:
	John Doe
Click Next

Your email address is your username followed by @zipcon.com, for instance:
	johnd@zipcon.com
You can also use @zipcon.net ( for example johnd@zipcon.net )
Click Next

Choose My incoming mail server is a "POP3" server.
The Incoming mail (POP3 or IMAP) server AND the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server
are "mail.zipcon.net"
Click Next

Choose "Log on using" and fill in your username (also called login name)
in the "POP account name" box (this is all lowercase without the @zipcon.net
at the end, for instance 'johnd'.  Put your password in the "Password" box.
Please be sure not to check the box in the "SPA".
Click Next

For the "Internet mail account name" leave mail.zipcon.net there.
Click Next

Choose "Yes" for "Do you want to set up an Internet news account now?"
Click Next

For "Display name" fill in your real name, for instance:

John Doe
Click Next

Your email address is your username followed by @zipcon.com, for instance:
	johnd@zipcon.com
You can also use @zipcon.net ( for example johnd@zipcon.net )
Click Next

The "News (NNTP) server" is "news.zipcon.net"
Do not check the box "My news server requires me to log on"
Click Next

Leave "news.zipcon.net" in the "Internet news account name" field.
Click Next

Choose "No" to "Do you want to set up your Internet directory service
account.
Click Next

Click Finish.

Done!!!	 You are now ready to connect to Zipcon.  Just double click on
Internet Explorer to browse the web, and double click on Outlook Express
