May 23-25, 2003 Heinz Field, Pittsburgh, PA Come experience the rich cultural diversity of Pittsburgh this Memorial Day weekend celebration that will focus on the costumes and native dress of Pittsburgh's various nationalities. The Rusyns, who were present at the 1st Pittsburgh Folk Festival in 1956, will once again participate. The Rusyn food booth and cultural performances will be provided by the Slavjane Folk Ensemble. Slavjane will perform on Sunday, May 25. The Rusyn sales and cultural display areas will be staffed by the Carpatho-Rusyn Society, Pittsburgh Chapter. The Pittsburgh Chapter of the Carpatho-Rusyn Society is also looking for volunteers to help staff both the sales and display areas throughout the festival. If you are willing to donate an hour or two of your time, and have a Rusyn costume (basic embroidered shirt and black pants or skirt), we are looking for volunteers to help staff the sales and display areas for the weekend.
