DOCUMENTATION MANAGER

We are seeking an individual to be responsible for managing the activities of the technical writing staff in a deadline driven environment. Will also work with QA, project engineering, R&D and marketing to ensure development and timely delivery of quality user and service manuals. Gathering and communicating product information to writers and project schedules to the team will be key. Additionally, you'll review printed and on-line manuals for usability, accuracy, and consistency. Requires a BA/BS degree or equivalent, 2+ years of experience writing and/or editing user manuals for software and hardware products. At least 2 years of experience as documentation project lead/manager in a high-tech environment also required. Experience in the areas of desktop color printers or color copiers. Web page development and HTML a plus. Knowledge of both Macintosh and PC/Windows environments and FrameMaker helpful.


TECHNICAL WRITER

The ideal candidate will write and maintain software documentation for our current Fiery products, track product changes and manage multiple OEM versions of manuals, work on team to product documentation for new Fiery products and work closely with engineers and developers to obtain product information. Other duties include working closely with contract illustrators, specifying and obtaining accurate artwork when necessary, working on a team to produce screen captures for user and service documentation, helping track changes in existing documents for translation purposes and miscellaneous copyediting and proof reading as required. The qualified candidate will have at least 2 years experience writing end user documentation for software products, a demonstrated ability to work in a deadline environment. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team, and must be detail oriented. Experience using FrameMaker, Adobe Photoshop, QuarkXPress and experience in the areas of desktop color management, traditional color printing and/or color theory, as well as knowledge of Macintosh and PC/Windows environments. BA/BS or equivalent.
