Unzip Tbase2.zip to a temporary directory. 2. Choose the Run command from the File menu in Windows Program Manager or File Manager. 3. Type "c:\temp\setup.exe" (substitute the appropriate drive and directory for your temporary directory). 4. Press Enter. 5. Follow the on screen prompts. SHARE.EXE: In order to load a database you must run share.exe from your autoexec.bat file. Please add the following line to your autoexec.bat file: "Path" share.exe /L:500 Where "Path" is the location of share.exe. (Example "c:\dos\share.exe /L:500") Note: A copy of share.exe should be present in your dos directory, if the name of your dos directory is different from that above change the command appropriately. If you are running Windows For Workgroups in enhanced mode you do not need to add share.exe to your autoexec.bat file. If you used the setup program to add share to to your auto- exec.bat file it assumes your dos directory is c:\dos. If this is incorrect you will need to manually edit your autoexec.bat to show the correct path. WRONG VERSION ERRORS: If you receive an error message when you attempt to run TrainingBase saying that a file, particularly any file with a ".vbx" extension, is out of date or the wrong version take the following steps. 1. Remove any copies of the file currently on your hard drive by moving them to a floppy disk. The file will most likely be in your windows\system directory. 2. Rerun TrainingBase setup to install the correct version of the file. This error occurs because the file is corrupt, read only, or has some other problem which prevents the setup program from coping over it. VBRUN300.DLL: The file "vbrun300.dll must be in your windows system directory to run the setup program and to run TrainingBase. This file is not included in Tbase2.zip to save space as many users will already have this file. This file is necessary to run any program written in Visual Basic 3.0. You may download this file from many of the forums on Compuserve or America Online. INTERNATIONAL DATES: You may use TrainingBase with other than U.S. date formats if you do not show the century in the short date format. (95 not 1995) To turn off the century use the Windows Control Panel and select the international icon. In the international settings dialog under Date Format click the Change ... button. Make sure the Century check box is unchecked in the Short Date Format settings. Select Ok to make the change.
