The file manager KFM

You will certainly use this often. It represents each file in a directory by an icon (which you can copy/paste or drag-drop into another directory or onto the desktop). Its functions are extraordinary as it allows you for example to preview the images in a given directory, but equally to visualise the contents of a HTML page!

To test it, connect yourself to the Internet (with KPP) then type "http://www.linux-mandrake.com" in the address field (that which contains by default: file:/quelquechose). After a few seconds, you will certainly see displayed something which looks like:

Figure: http://www.linux-mandrake.com under KFM!
\resizebox*{0.6\textwidth}{!}{\includegraphics{psshots/kfm-wwwmandrake.ps}}

You will see that the output of Web pages is not much worse than Netscape Navigator! On the other hand, KFM does not support Java and experiences many more errors with sophisticated Web pages containing scripts.

Finally, you can also visit FTP sites with KFM, just enter an address of the type "ftp://ftp.linux-mandrake.com".
