Explorer Context Menu

(Pro Version only)

The Setup of HTML Shrinker Pro automatically adds some items to the context menu of the Windows Explorer which let you use HTML Shrinker directly from Explorer. When you right click on a folder or drive in the Windows Explorer the following three items will appear in the context menu: shrink with HTML Shrinker, Restore with HTML Shrinker and Remove HTML Shrinker Backups. When clicking on a html file only the first two items will appear: Shrink with HTML Shrinker and Restore with HTML Shrinker.

Shrink with HTML Shrinker

When right clicking a folder and choosing 'Shrink with HTML Shrinker' all web files within this folder and its sub folders will be shrunken. Backups of the original file will be created in the same folder. During the shrinking the dialog of HTML Shrinker will be displayed.

When selecting one or more html files, right clicking on them and choosing 'Shrink with HTML Shrinker' all selected files will be shrunken. Backups of the original file will be created in the same folder, but the dialog of HTML Shrinker won't be displayed during shrinking.

Restore with HTML Shrinker

When right clicking a folder and choosing 'Restore with HTML Shrinker' the original state of the shrunken files within this folder and its sub folders will be restored. The backups will be automatically deleted.

When selecting one or more html files, right clicking on them and choosing 'Restore with HTML Shrinker' all selected files will be restored. The backups will be automatically deleted.

Remove HTML Shrinker Backups

When right clicking a folder and choosing 'Remove HTML Shrinker Backups' all files with the extension .bak will be deleted from the selected folder and its sub folders. Be careful with this command!

Changing the context menu behavior of HTML Shrinker

If you don't like the behavior of HTML Shrinker when used from the Explorer context menu, you can reconfigure it. HTML Shrinker's context menu behavior is determined by the command line options described in the Command Line section. Altering the command line for each of the context menu items will change the way HTML Shrinker behaves when called from the context menu.

To change the command line options of one of the HTML Shrinker context menu items or remove one of these context menu items, open the Explorer and choose Folder Options from the View or Tools menu. Click on the File Types tab sheet in the Folder Options dialog, select the 'Folder' or 'HTML Document' item from the list box and click the Edit or Advanced button. Select the appropriate HTML Shrinker context menu item in the new dialog and press the Edit button again. Now you will see the command line that is executed when the appropriate context menu item is clicked. Please read the Command Line section for changing the command line to match your needs.
