HTML Shrinker Pro offers three commands for viewing shrinking results without
modifying the files itself:
1. Simulate Shrinking
Sometimes you may want to know how many bytes you would save by using HTML Shrinker Pro on a whole web site while leaving the original files untouched. Using the "Simulate Shrinking" command from the File menu lets you do that. It shrinks the files in memory without saving them and gives you a shrinking report. The shrinking report tells you how much you would save for each file or the whole web site.
To perform simulated shrinking choose the folder of your web site from the folder box and select "Simulate Shrinking" from the File menu. HTML Shrinker Pro will then simulate the shrinking of all files and sub folders and display the results.
2. Analyze All
Analyze All work exactly like Simulate Shrinking, but the displayed results are much more detailed. For each file there is displayed how many bytes were saved by removing Spaces, Tabs, EOLs, Font Tags, Quotes and many other elements. Up to 26 different values are displayed per file.
To analyzing your web site choose the folder of your web site from the folder box and select "Analyze All" from the File menu. HTML Shrinker Pro will then analyze all files and sub folders and display the results.
If you try to analyze already shrunken files, you won't get any results.
3. Analyze
Analyze display the same results as Analyze All, but lets you select from the file box which files should be analyzed. To analyzing some files select the files in the file box and select "Analyze" from the File menu. HTML Shrinker Pro will then analyze the selected files and display the results.
If you try to analyze already shrunken files, you won't get any results.
