But by 15h15, it was clear that Ney will not intervene as expected. Napoleon recalled d'Erlon's corps without informing Ney who recalled it again. As a consequence, this corps arrive at Ligny with much delay. Napoleon is also obliged to engage his guard who break the prussian line by 20h00 PM. The prussian army withdraw at the night without being pursued by the frenchs. They was not put out of action as Napoleon will believe and they will play a deciding role the 18th at Waterloo. [
