Player one, you are Napoleon the Ist, Emperor of the frenchs, and the 
Great Army is under your command.

After making your decision to advance and engage the Russian army after 
Smolensk, you arrived at Shevardino, with your now-concentrated force of 
133,000 men and 587 guns.

The advance guard had captured this redoubt on the 5th September, when to
their surprise, a tremendous cannonade announced the presence of the 
combined Russian army, 120,860 men and 640 cannon. The 6th you reconnoi-
tered the Russian dispositions. At this juncture, Kutuzov had disposed his
army with Borodino in his front and center. 

You decided against Davout's advice that the army would carry the position
by a frontal assault on the morrow. At 5:00 AM today, Marshal Ney has just 
informed you that the army was in position and ready to attack...
