Image Formats

PDFCreator supports the creation of several image formats. This menu changes the settings when converting to these formats. The format can be set, while selecting the directory and the file name.

JPEG Settings

The JPG format is commonly used to create compressed single page documents to get smaller files with a loss in image quality.

Resolution: Sets the dpi or dots per inch of the image. The higher the dpi the more detailed the image and the larger the file size will be. The default dpi is 150.

Colors: Sets the amount of colors that should be used when converting to JPEG format. The best and highest setting is 24 bit color.

Quality: Sets the image quality of the document when it is converted. The higher the quality, the larger the image file size will be.

PNG Settings

PNG (Portable Network Graphics) format should be used to create single page documents in lossless quality.

Resolution: Sets the dpi or dots per inch of the image. The higher the dpi the more detailed the image and the larger the file size will be. The default dpi is 150.

Colors: Sets the amount of colors that should be used when converting to PNG format. The best and highest setting is 24 bit color.

TIFF Settings

TIF (Tagged Image File) format is used for multi page documents.

Colors: Sets the amount of colors that should be used when converting to TIF format. The best and highest setting is 24 bit color.
