Correct handwriting in East Asian languages
Handwriting recognition is installed by default in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, and Korean language versions of Microsoft Office.
Note If Microsoft Word is enabled as your e-mail editor, you can use this feature in Microsoft Outlook.
Do one of the following:
Correct handwriting entered in handwritten form
The correction is inserted as typed text rather than in handwritten form.
- Right-click the incorrect character inserted in the program.
- On the shortcut menu, point to Ink Object, and then click Alternate List.
- Click the correct alternative.

- Right-click the incorrect character inserted in the program.
- On the shortcut menu, click the correct alternative.
- If the correct alternative is not listed, click More, and then click an alternative.
Note The original handwritten entry is at the bottom of the More alternative list. Select it if you want to restore the original handwriting.
Tips
- You can correct an error by selecting the error and then writing or typing the correction.
- You can also select correction alternatives by clicking Correction
on the Language bar or on the Boxed Input
or Write Anywhere
toolbar.
