Restore the default categories

  1. Click any item.
  2. On the Edit menu, click Categories.
  3. Click Master Category List.
  4. Click Reset.
  5. Click OK twice.

Note  When you reset the Master Category List, only the categories originally supplied with Outlook remain. All categories you added are deleted. These changes only affect the Master Category List. Items assigned to deleted categories keep their category assignments so you can find, sort, filter, or group them by those deleted categories.
