Change the multi-line layout display

You can specify the width (in number of characters) of the message list before Microsoft Outlook switches to single-line layout.

1. On the View menu, point to Arrange By, and then click Custom.
2. Click Other Settings.
3. Under Other Options, select the Use multi-line layout in widths smaller than n characters check box, and type the number you want for n.

If the message list in multi-line layout is not wide enough to display all the column headings about an item, pausing on the item will display a ScreenTip containing all this information, plus any additional fields that are displayed in the single-line layout for this view.

1. On the View menu, point to Arrange By, and then click Custom.
2. Click Fields.
3. In the Maximum number of lines in multi-line mode box, enter the number you want.
