Determine Exchange mailbox mode

This feature requires you to be using a Microsoft Exchange Server e-mail account.

1. On the Tools menu, click E-mail accounts, select View or change existing e-mail accounts, click Next, select the Exchange e-mail account, and then click Change.
2. Click More Settings, then click the Advanced tab.

   The status is displayed under Mailbox Mode.

Notes

• The Mailbox Mode determines if Microsoft Outlook is running in Unicode or non-Unicode mode on the Exchange server. If Outlook is not running in Unicode mode, you might not be able to create, send, view, and receive items in multiple languages.
• The Mailbox Mode is read-only. You cannot manually change the mailbox mode in Outlook. The mailbox mode is automatically determined by Outlook when the computer is started depending on several conditions such as the Exchange server version, the format of the Personal Folders file (.pst), and settings configured by your Exchange server administrator.
