Change the way items are displayed
You can create formatting rules that highlight items in a view based on certain conditions. For example, by default, new e-mail messages appear in bold in your Inbox, or when a task is complete it is formatted with a red strikethrough line.
- On the View menu, point to Arrange By, point to Current View, and then click Customize Current View.
- Click Automatic Formatting.
- Do one of the following:
Add a rule
Delete a rule
- In the Rules for this view list, select the rule you want to delete.
- Click Delete.
Note You cannot delete a built-in rule.
Change a rule
- In the Rules for this view list, select the rule you want to change.
- Select the new options you want.
Tip
You can specify that messages from a specific sender display in your Inbox in a certain color. On the Tools menu, click Organize, and then click Using Colors. In Color messages, select the options you want, and then click Apply Color.
