Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP) is a Java 2 Mobile Edition (J2ME) programming interface, implemented on many PDAs / cellular telephones / mobile devices including some or all models (variously) from Alcatel, ASUS, BenQ, BenQ-Siemens, Cingular, Dopod, HP, HTC, Huawei, I-Mate, Lenovo, LG Electronics, Mitac, Motorola, NEC, Nokia, O2, Orange, Panasonic, Philips, QTEK, Research in Motion Ltd. (BlackBerry), RoverPC, Sagem, Samsung, Sanyo, Sendo, Sharp, Siemens, Sony-Ericsson, T-Mobile, Tatung, Vodafone. It is most often found on devices using Symbian, BlackBerry OS, Linux, or VxWorks as the underlying operating system.
