This is one of the best of The Floyd's albums. Also notice how Roger Waters is becoming more and more the dominant person in the band. And, as everyone knows, this eventually led to the break-up. The Wall (double album) (There is also a film by the same name) ----------------------- UK Release: Harvest SHDW 411 30 november 1979 US Release: Same as UK..? A Collection of Great Dance Songs --------------------------------- UK Release: Harvest SHVL 822 23 November 1981 US Release: Same as UK? Producer: Pink Floyd and Bob Ezrin/James Guthrie Recorded: The album is a sort of Pink Floyd 'Greatest Hits' and recorded various places and years. Side 1: One of These Days (Waters-Wright-Mason-Gilmour) Money (Waters) Sheep (Waters) Side 2: Shine on you Crazy Diamond (Wright-Waters-Gilmour) Wish You Were Here (Waters-Gilmour) Another Brick in the Wall, Part Two (Waters) The 'Shine On....' version is a shortened compact of the two parts featured on the original LP. The Final Cut ------------- UK Release: Harvest SHPF 1983 21 March 1983 US Release: Same as UK Producer: Roger Waters-James Guthrie-Michael Kamen Recorded: Mayfair, Olympic, Abbey Road and more between July and Dec. '82 Side 1: The Post War Dream (Waters) Your Possible Parts (Waters) One of the Few (Waters) The Hero's Return (Waters) The Gunner's Dream (Waters) Paranoid Eyes (Waters) Side 2: Get Your Filthy Hands off my Desert (Waters) The Fletcher Memorial Home (Waters) Southampton Dock (Waters) The Final Cut (Waters) Not Now John (Waters) Two Suns in the Sunset (Waters) This album is more a Roger Waters album than a Pink Floyd album. It marked the end of The Pink Floyd, and a long time in court followed. Mason, Wright and Gilmour got to keep the name, and Waters had to use his own name in future releases. It is suspected that Waters used Pink Floyd as the releaser of The Final Cut to make it sell better. Richard Wright is not even mentioned in the album. This is where the good Floyd ended in my opinion. The quality went down with The Wall and this LP is even worse. What a tragedy. A Momentary Lapse of Reason --------------------------- UK Release: EMI EMD 1003 7 September 1987 US Release: As UK Producer: Bob Ezrin and David Gilmour Recorded: Unknown Side 1: Signs of Life (Gilmour-Ezrin) Learning to Fly (Gilmour-Moore-Ezrin-Carin) The Dogs of War (Gilmour-Moore) One Slip (Gilmour-Manzanera) On the Turning Away (Gilmour-Moore) Side 2: Yet Another Movie (Gilmour-Leonard) Round and Around (Gilmour) A New Machine Part 1 (Gilmour) Terminal Frost (Gilmour) A New Machine Part 2 (Gilmour) Sorrow (Gilmour) Oh no....The New Pink Floyd's first album, and it isn't very good either. Many of the songs are co-written with other musicians, and it is obvious that the Floyd cannot do without Waters and Waters cannot do without Floyd. Don't buy this if you aren't a collector...like me. Delicate Sounds of Thunder (LIVE) -------------------------- UK Release: Automne 88 ? US Release: As UK Producer: Pink Floyd Recorded: Live at the tour 88 (You ought to know the authors of the songs by now!) Side 1: Shine on you Crazy Diamond Learning to Fly Yet Another Movie Round and Around Side 2: Sorrow Dogs of War On the Turning Away Side 3: One of These Days Money Another Brick in the Wall Part Two Side 4: Wish You Were Here Comfortably Numb Run Like Hell An ok album from a GREAT tour....featuring remixed and partially rewritten versions of the earlier albums. The highlights on the album are side 3 and 4, the sided were most of the old material is.. This is the last we have heard from the Floyd.... And also the end of the list...Look for my solo albums list...
