SHR View Updates _______________________________________________________________________________ [Version 3.0] Too many things have been changed in this version for me to recollect. SV now uses the memory manager and won't crash your system if run from GSOS. SV will now scroll images of ANY SIZE. As if 2x2 wasn't enough! This feature was added since, Prism, a new image convert which I'm writing, can create images that are rather large. The entire program is now much faster than before. I rewrote alot of it. _______________________________________________________________________________ [Version 3.1] SV will now display the French APP 3200 Color format. SV will only recognize these files if they have a filetype of BIN ($06), and an auxtype of $0000. I fixed a bug in the image scroller, which caused lines of garbage to show up every now and then during a scroll. SV now displays $C2 Paintworks Gold Animation files more accurately. SV will now display filenames in upper and lowercase as set in GSOS. _______________________________________________________________________________ [Version 3.2] SV will now display GIF87a and GIF89a images. They will be converted to grayscale and shown in their actual size. GIFs will take a little longer to load than other images, unless they are 320x200 or smaller. SV will noew display Visionary (Enhanced Vision Plus) Raw Data images. They will be shown in grayscale. SV will now open TXT and BIN files and look at their contents to decide if a file is GIF or French APP. If your directory contains a lot of non-image related TXT/BIN files, it may slow down the boot process somewhat, but it probably won't be noticeable. This is a good feature, as you won't have to append ".GIF" to the end of your GIF images, SV will figure it out for itself. The Auto Scrolling option has been sped up SIGNIFICANTLY. You'll never see full-screen scrolling (on the GS) faster than this. If you want to see what your GS can really do, try out this option! I fixed a small bug which caused the program to lockout all valid keyboard commands if you typed an invalid one. _______________________________________________________________________________ [Version 3.2a] I fixed a bug in the Allison (Visionary) Raw Data file loading routines. The bug would cause some computers to crash, depending on their memory configuration. All SV commands are now available during auto-scrolling, as documented. Your border will now remain black during auto-scrolling, since a red border means that you can scroll the image yourself. _______________________________________________________________________________ [Version 3.2b] $C2 Animation files are now displayed correctly. By correctly I mean that the timing is now correct, and "stray pixels" don't appear anymore. There was also a bug that was fixed which caused SV to corrupt memory when certain $C2 files were loaded. I wrote my own UnPackBytes routine, instead of using the ToolBox, and the result is that an image compressed with PackBytes is now loaded quite a bit faster. Sorry, I can't provide you with a figure--it's hard to time. You'll notice the speed increase with large Apple Preferred images. Apple Preferred 640 images are now displayed "correctly." Before, an extra horizontal page was added, equavalent to the 640 pixel width of the image. So you could've scrolled horizontally through a 640 picture even though nothing was there. The image scrolling routines have been optimized slightly, so you'll notice a slight speed increase...then again...maybe not. _______________________________________________________________________________ [Version 3.2c] I fixed a bug in the scrolling routines which could corrupt memory when scrolling through large images. This bug only existed in Version 3.2b. If timeouts are active while a $C2 Animation is being displayed, SV will now wait until the animation has been completely displayed before checking for a timeout. So now animations won't get cut off mid-stream. _______________________________________________________________________________
