I can't remember when I started it, but it was finished on the 23 rd. As far as I know, only Cubic 1.4 plays the modules as i want it to ... on my computer, FT2 itself screws up tone portamento command :( ÕÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ͸ ³ Background Information ³ ÔÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ; This module is the 20th in a series about the many different jobs on the refinery. Together they constitute a music disk, called 'FinaDisk 1995'. With this module the FinaDisk 1995 will be closed, as will be my stay at Fina in a couple of days. Stay tuned for the next Bolleke modules from the forthcoming 'Transition Music Disk' ! This module is my first FastTracker 2 module. I switched from ST3 to FT2 because of some of ST3's limitations : 8 bit samples < 64000 bytes. Maybe it's just because I'm still used to working with ST3, maybo not, but *IMHO* the FT2 interface needs a lot of improvement ! It doesn't support a Belgian keyboard, the French keyboard emulation is not correct (still treats it as a QWERTY keyboard), but the thing that drives me crazy is the constant hassling around with your space and tab key to switch edit mode or switch channels. I got this module erased twice because I clicked on its name in the disk op section, and it simply loaded without warning the current module wasn't saved yet. AND it requires a separate panning setting for each separate note, otherwise it puts it in the middle. Why not a global channel panning setting which can be changed at any row ? I simply hate it not being able to combine a volume command, a panning setting and an effect. If FT2 would support global panning per channel as does ST3, this situation would not occur. And why isn't there any text file for help function to print ? Just always go looking around in the in-screen help text, scrolling only with the mouse because arrow commands work on the song ... grrr. THIS INTERFACE SIMPLY DRIVERS ME NUTS !!!! But I must admit sound quality is much better due to unlimited 16 bit samples. Maybe I will make my songs in ST3 and then reload them in FT2 with 16 bit samples and adjust the appropriate commands. Otherwise ... I really like ST3 ... Maybe you're wondering why I haven't released a new song in aboput a month ? Inspiration doesn't come so quickly nowadays and maybe I have become a bit more critical towards my own compositions. Furthermore I had to get to learn FT2, and reconvert some of my samples. Unfortunately, since I have recently installed Linux and spent some week's time at understanding the system and still have to configure it properly, I repartitioned my hard drives and forgot to back up my ST3 samples .... hehe :) No, I haven't forgotten to, but probably a few weren't included my most recent backup :( So this explains why this module has only one sample in it. I started the bass line and installed Linux. And was left with only one sample . And I also spent a lot of time updating my WWW pages ...
