01-Aug-97 -- SASG website celebrates 1st anniversary!
-
As of today SASG has been online for exactly one year since we premiered
our SASG Internet Services on the worldwide web. To sum it up, the
decision to go online and to develop new ways of handling shareware
electronically was a success. Of all registrations through SASG, 87% of our
customers decided to receive their products via email, which is an
astounding figure. And the trend indicates that this figure will increase to
95% in the future. This clearly shows that people are eagerly embracing our
new form of handling shareware by enjoying the fast and easy way to
register and receive their software electronically.
After one year of online experience we now know that this is the definitive
way for shareware products to be promoted, purchased and supported. We will
continue our SASG Internet Services and constantly enhance it as we step
into a brighter future of online communications and services. Here are a
few more figures: After one year our website had over 150,000 visitors, of
which 601 took their time to add their comment to our guestbook. 91% of our
customers did pay with their credit cards. We have some 400-500 visitors
per day and our most exotic customers live in countries like Egypt,
Puerto Rico, Slovenija, Malaysia, Thailand, Costa Rica, Hungary, Lebanon,
Venezuela, Colombia, Croatia, Vietnam, South Corea, Poland, Singapore,
South Africa and Brazil. The Amiga is everywhere -- and SASG supports it
globally.

24-May-97 -- Big announcement posted to newsgroups
-
Since SASG has never publically announced its website and the new SASG
Internet Services, it was time now to post an
article to the major Amiga
newsgroups. The time was appropriate because we had many events to
celebrate (birthday, hitmark record, new Reg-Program) and also a special
offer to make: Our unrestricted 20% birthday discount for everybody!
-
23-May-97 -- 20% birthday discount for everybody!
-
To celebrate our birthday and our website attendance record, we have
decided to let everyone participate in our achievements by making a special
offer: SASG International grants you an exclusive, time-limited
20% birthday discount on all of its featured
products! We thought it would be appropriate to give away our products for
20% less for exactly 3 weeks, since we are celebrating our 3rd
anniversary. This means, if you register one of our products before the
13-Jun-97, you will be granted this special birthday discount. On friday
the 13th, this exclusive offer will expire!
-
22-May-97 -- SASG Registration Program v4.0 released
-
The new SASG Registration Program is a complete rewrite. Even though it is
so small in size it contains all information about the SASG, its standards,
payment methods and currencies, its background and the author & product
information. It is very easy-to-use by featuring an intuitive design and
help texts to guide the user. With it you can register our SASG products in
all needed payment methods and currencies. It supports credit cards,
email, fax and security orders via PGP. It is bilingual, fills out the
order form automatically if you want to upgrade, has got an improved
printer support and a built-in TCP/IP system for transmitting email orders
directly to our Shareware Center. And if this is not enough, we have added
a jaw-dropping SASG trailer with animations and a few gags -- the first
time that you will see this in a workbench window!
-
20-May-97 -- Happy birthday SASG!
-
Today SASG turned 3. We are celebrating our 3rd anniversary! For three
years now SASG is supporting the Amiga scene with its major software
products that helped the Amiga to stay as appealing and as functional as
we could imagine it. Due to our permanent contributions and dedication to
this platform, many Amiga users have expressed that SASG has actually
played an important part in keeping the Amiga alive for the last 3 darker
years.
SASG was founded in May 1994. Most Amiga users will remember this
time as the downfall of Commodore. SASG was born out of this crisis since
we wanted to show our solidarity with the Amiga and its users worldwide for
we knew that the liquidation of Commodore would not simultaneously mean the
downfall of the Amiga computer. After 3 years we can proudly say that our
decisions and feelings were right on this matter. It was good to support
the Amiga and its users by keeping this platform strong and flourishing.

18-May-97 -- SASG website beats 100,000 hitmark!
-
Although we have not announced our new website yet, over 100,000 Amiga
users worldwide have visited us on the web and enjoyed their stay so far.
As for them, our website "is the most beautiful, functional and
professionally done site" they have ever seen on the web (see the comments
in our Guestbook).
It has become a major address to turn to for many web surfers.
We thank everybody who has visited our website and helped to make it so
popular!

-
30-Mar-97 -- Interview about GW2000 as new Amiga owner
-
Amiga magazines have approached us to give an interview about our opinion
on the new aquisition of the Amiga assets by the renowned company Gateway
2000. They wanted to know our assessment of the situation and how this move
would affect SASG's plans for the future. The interview
was printed in several magazines.
-
12-Mar-97 -- SASG supports First Virtual payment
-
SASG now accepts registrations via the First Virtual internet payment system.
Paying by First Virtual (FV) is completely secure since no confidential information like
the credit card number and expiration date is transmitted over the Internet
at any time. Even the seller (i.e. the company you order from) will not see
this data. After you ordered a product with your PIN (FV password) you will
immediately receive a personal email from First Virtual asking you to approve
the purchase. Only after you approved it will your credit card be charged.
So, no one but you can actually use this PIN, even if others have seen it
or somehow know about it. If you still pay with credit card on the web, there
is absolutely no reason why you should not get yourself a First Virtual PIN
immediately. It costs you nothing (the seller pays the FV charges) and can
be easily completed in just a few minutes. We invite you to
enroll now. After that
you can use your new First Virtual PIN to pay everywhere on the web!
-
15-Feb-97 -- Strategic alliance with Vaporware
-
SASG formed a strategic alliance with the shareware organisation
Vaporware. This organisation produces
and distributes many high-quality Amiga Internet applications such as Voyager,
AmIRC, AmFTP, Microdot etc. SASG and Vaporware are now partners in the
Amiga shareware scene working closely together. A first immediate benefit
users have from this alliance: Everyone who has registered Vaporware
products is granted an exclusive 20% discount on all of our
featured software products!
-
01-Aug-96 -- SASG website goes online
-
The SASG website is online now. Although we tried to keep this project
secret before we went online, thousands of interested Amiga users found out
about it weeks before and rushed on our website the day we premiered it.
It was a total success. Read about the first impressions of visitors from
all over the world in our Guestbook.
