SEMI-PRO SERIES USA (Phoenix)
1996/97 Pole Position: 1:16.040 (Marcel Offermans)
1996/97 Race Time: 0h56m06.218 (Paul Robins)
Race Distance: 41 laps

Qualifying

The first more or less official IC event in preparation of the 1997/98 season attracted 13 drivers from 7 teams.

In the Semi-Pro series, JSR-Mopar F1 had its first appearance. Considering that Ron Vance and John Stoker would have qualified on 3rd and 4th last season with their times, the team's future could be quite bright.

Weather forecasts speak of 100% probability of a rainy race day. Now that the grid positions are sorted out, everybody's excited about the upcoming wet race, the first ever at Phoenix. Oh, did I say *everybody*? ;-)

Ron Vance submitted a time, but he unfortunately found himself not in a wet race. This means no result for the Semi-Pro this time.
