Dear Amiga users,

Welcome to the clickBOOM Myst site.

Amiga will finally have the legendary Myst! With the biggest and most important game ever knocking on the door, the situation with Amiga games will suddenly change. Everyone got so used to saying and hearing how Amiga users will never see any more big games, that it probably came as a shock to everybody when we announced Myst.

What can we possibly say about this game that hasn't already been said a thousand times? Myst is the bestselling CD-ROM game ever. It's hard to imagine a bigger and more important game for the Amiga. Myst will also be the biggest challenge for the Amiga market. If this game succeeds, it is guaranteed you will be seeing many more big games coming, some through us, some through other big companies who temporarily left the Amiga market.

We have set our mission a long time ago. PXL computers and clickBOOM will be making the best games or will not be making games at all. After all the problems with Commodore and games companies leaving the Amiga market, it looked like it was all going to fall down. And when we were saying last year that the best for Amiga is yet to come, probably even a lot of die-hard Amiga fans had thought those were just nice words from clickBOOM. But, here we are, bringing the game that is truly more than just a game.

Myst is not about polygons, frames per second, megahertz, and other 1997's jargon. It's about intelligent gameplay. It shows you don't have to be chasing bad guys with a shot gun to have fun with a computer game. It's a thinking man's game. And when in 1996 every team (including clickBOOM) was trying to squeeze the life out of the machine they were programming for in order to get the fastest and smoothest gameplay, there was Myst, becoming the bestselling video game of the year for both PC and Mac.

Myst is a pure story of success. Myst is what happens when a team of extremely talented and hard working people create a vision. Don't even for a second think we are talking about us. It's Cyan, the original developers of Myst who we should all thank.

Furthermore, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the legendary Amiga fan, Jason Compton, editor of Amiga Report, for his help and idea for getting the Myst license.

So, dear Amiga users, some time during the summer you will be able to enjoy Myst on Amiga. It will be OS-friendly, fully multitasking, working in hi-res screenmodes, supporting video boards (16 million colors) and AGA (256 colors), multisync and interlaced resolutions...

Myst is a CD-only game, requiring more CPU power and memory from your computer. It is clear we want to continue our revolution on the Amiga, and this time our task is to start pushing the hardware limits.

If you don't own a CD-ROM drive, you have only a couple of months to get it, or you will be lagging behind. For the rest of you who already have a CD-ROM, get a copy of Capital Punishment while you are waiting for Myst. :)

As always, feel free to contact us at info@clickboom.com
