ISDN ( Integrated Services Digital Network ) combines voice and digital network services in one medium, replacing the old telephone system where high speed data transfer is required e.g. for internet connection. Because ISDN is all-digital there is no need for a modem, but an adapter is required for internal or external connection to your PC. The arrival of 56k modems may slow the expected transition to ISDN. |
